My name is Ellen Waghorn and I am the producer for the 3 Runners Project.
The 3 Runners Project is a newly formed creative endeavour involving four creative professionals:
- Joe Law
- Erica Morris
- Vali Raza
- Ellen Waghorn
In a later post I shall introduce you to them all but for now I will tell you a little more about the project.
The 3 Runners Project will be a series of webisodes which will be conceived, written, acted, filmed, produced and funded by the four of us. For those of you who are not sure what a webisode is please see below.
A webisode is a short episode which airs initially as internet television, either download or stream as opposed to first airing on broadcast or cable television. The format can be used as a preview, a promotion, as part of a collection of shorts, or a commercial. A webisode can be an episode especially of a TV show that may or may not have been telecast but can be viewed at a Web site.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
We have decided to create webisodes due to its flexibility as a media form. Social media is ever expanding and to not take note of this as an artist from painter to circus performer would be foolish. It will allow us not only to advertise the series of webisodes but also to put the webisodes themselves out on multiple channels therefore achieving more exposure and a more varied audience.
Creatively, it allows us almost complete freedom. We make as many or as few as we can handle/need/want and the only limit in content is our imagination and budget. Saying this, the restriction of budget is something to overcome rather than be stopped by. We will have to be clever about our decisions to keep production quality up and costs down.
Stuff spectacle, personally I go weak at the knees for intelligence.
We had our first meeting on Tuesday so this really is the beginning of the project. We have made only one solid decision on storyline so far. The series will be about the experience of three runners on a film set.
So there you go, the 3 Runners Project. We are meeting again next Tuesday to begin looking at plot and content. I will update you.
All the best,
Ellen Waghorn – Producer
